The Senior Readiness Project
The Senior Readiness Project is an opportunity for students to reflect upon their academic and emotional growth in high school; explore in writing their strengths, challenges, and strategies that have been helpful for them; and make a comprehensive plan for the following year. Students create a thorough online portfolio with their reflections and examples of their work from over their time in high school, and they also complete a Passion Project, which is a project in the form of their choosing designed to celebrate their passions and/or to challenge themselves with something that has been an obstacle in the past. These projects have taken the form of short films, an album (complete with album art), websites, pieces of art, presentations, and many other creative formats. Finally, students present their work to the Senior Readiness Panels, a group of faculty members who will question, discuss, and assess their work. These panels are a supportive place for students to share their accomplishments and celebrate their progress before they graduate. The photos below were taken after students finished their panel presentations.
