Stevenson Junior League Basketball Game
The RLS basketball season is off to a great start! The Stevenson Junior Team played a very unique game on November 30 against Legacy High School's middle school program. This was a one time game for the four youngest players on the high school team plus a student in the Stevenson Middle Program. Stevenson faculty members, Michal Barnea, Jose Sanchez and Nick Alexander were all co-coaches, and sophomore Justin H. was an assistant coach.
Coach Nick believes it’s important for younger Stevenson students to participate in basketball, “At a young age winning does not need to be discussed,” Nick comments that, “the important thing is to develop creative and skilled student-athletes who are confident.” Coach Jose is excited to be working this great group of students, "The future of Stevenson basketball looks bright with these young, enthusiastic players enjoying and playing the game the right way." It was a great experience for both the students and the coaches on the team, “I had great fun coaching the team, even if it was for one game. The kids responded and played hard for four quarters.”
